Birmingham Airport has reported another record month for passenger figures, with January 2017 its busiest ever start to a year.
A total of 775,176 passengers used the terminal during the first month of the year – an increase of 16.1 per cent year-on-year. Long-haul demand for seats rose by 29.5 per cent, with short haul up 13.4 per cent year-on-year.
David Winstanley, the airport’s CEO, said: “It is great to see the consecutive record breaking months continue. This is our 23rd in a row, giving us our best January, and start to the year, here at Birmingham Airport.
