The Registry Collection® Program Shares Optimistic Views on Fractional Market at OPP Live Conference

Multiple affiliates of The Registry Collection program also receive prestigious awards

LONDON (Dec. 8, 2011) — The Registry Collection® program, the world’s largest luxury exchange program and part of the Wyndham Worldwide (NYSE: WYN) family of brands, celebrated a successful presence at the prestigious international property conference OPP Live, at which a number of its key affiliates also won top awards.

Delegates at the well-attended event, which took place at London’s ExCeL, included industry professionals and consumers. Matt Holmes, business development manager for The Registry Collection program in Europe, joined other property industry experts to speak on two of the most popular panel sessions and watched as several affiliates were honored at the 2011 Awards for Excellence gala. The affiliated developer winners were:

• Absolute World Group – Silver Award for Best Developer Worldwide
• Dubrovnik Sun Gardens – Gold Award for Best Developer Southern Europe
• Freedom Bay St. Lucia – Silver Award for Best Luxury Developer
• Freedom Bay St. Lucia – Best Fractional Scheme
• The Residences at The Baglioni Marrakech – Best Marketing Campaign.

“We were delighted for our developers to receive these prestigious awards,” said Gregg Anderson, global vice president of The Registry Collection program. “The awards are well deserved and their success reflects the overall quality of the program and reaffirms our commitment to affiliate with the best resort developments and the most highly-reputed developers.”

What Will Happen Next in the Overseas Property Industry? and Fractional: What is Happening with Timeshare, Shared Ownership and Fractional Schemes? What Difference Will the Timeshare Directive Make? were two sessions that enabled delegates to get an up-to-date overview of the overseas property and fractional markets. Holmes said, “During the first session the consensus was that things are still tough out there due to the current economic uncertainty around Europe, but there are green shoots developing.

“During the second panel it became apparent that shared ownership is continuing to gain traction with mainstream property professionals, especially as developers seek to add an extra string to their bow and devise creative products to reach an increasingly educated and cautious investor,” Holmes continued. “It was fascinating to be a part of the sessions, and attending events such as these is hugely beneficial for both The Registry Collection program and fractional property developers, as OPP is so influential in the international property sector.”

Geoff Hadwick, editorial director of OPP Media, acclaimed The Registry Collection program’s contribution to the panels and the event in general. “We have had excellent feedback from the sessions The Registry Collection program was involved in and it’s clear Matt’s experience and knowledge helped to make the event very valuable and enjoyable for the delegates,” he said. “I know from speaking to countless delegates that many of our visitors went away feeling well informed and full of hope and new ideas.”
